Trump just put 100 percent tariffs on foreign drones. These US companies are the direct winners. Have you looked at any of them?

Effective today September 3 2026 the US imposes tariffs of up to 100 percent on imported drones with thermal imaging and drones over 25 kilograms. This is not a gradual phaseout. It is a wall. Overnight. DJI, the world's largest consumer drone maker, faces the full rate on its most advanced products. China gets no ally discount. The US companies that benefit immediately: AeroVironment, Kratos Defense, Red Cat Holdings, Ondas Holdings, Unusual Machines. Red Cat surged 7.42 percent on the announcement day. AeroVironment up 2.95 percent. Ondas up 2.92 percent. Defense secretary Hegseth has simultaneously made it easier for US drone companies to sell directly to the military without the traditional procurement bottleneck. Trump's defense budget is $892.6 billion. The political angle: Trump Jr. sits on Unusual Machines' advisory board and held 331,580 shares as of late 2024. The risk is that the announcement-day moves already priced in the benefit and the revenue impact takes quarters to materialize in earnings. Are you buying any US drone stocks on this tariff and if so which one?

Already in AeroVironment from earlier this year. The Switchblade loitering munition business has been growing independently of the tariff story. The 100 percent wall on Chinese thermal drones just adds a significant competitive moat on top of a business that was already performing. Not adding more here because the valuation has moved significantly but I am holding with conviction.
