Why Is the Gold Price Rising?

I've been trying to understand what's really driving the recent moves in the gold price. How much do you think is coming from inflation, interest rates, central bank gold buying, the US dollar, or geopolitical uncertainty? For anyone following gold closely, what indicators do you watch before deciding whether gold is likely to continue rising?

The central bank buying is the driver that most retail investors underweight because it does not show up in daily price feeds. Emerging market central banks, particularly China, India, Poland, and Turkey, have been reducing their dollar reserve dependency for three consecutive years and gold is the primary beneficiary of that structural shift. It is not reactive to inflation data or Fed meetings. It is a slow, sustained, deliberate diversification away from dollar-denominated reserves that creates a demand floor regardless of what short-term macro conditions do. The indicator I watch most closely is the World Gold Council's quarterly central bank demand report. When that number stays above 1,000 tonnes annually, which it has for three years running, I treat any price pullback as a buying opportunity rather than a trend reversal.
